Global vs. facility settings

ScopeDescription
Global templatesDefine defaults that seed new facilities on creation
Facility settingsPer-facility configuration that can diverge from templates
Changes to global templates affect future facilities only — existing facilities are not retroactively updated.
Global milestones are an exception — new global milestones do propagate to all existing facilities automatically with a source_milestone_type_id stamp. This ensures all facilities have access to new workflow steps.

Common admin workflows

Use the Facility creation wizard to provision the facility with templates, then optionally use the Demo generator to populate it with sample data for training.
Edit Global templates to update the default milestone workflows, procedures, or flag rules. These changes only affect facilities created after the update.
Check the Recent activity feed for the relevant facility, then navigate to that facility’s settings to review its configuration.
