Financial settings control how ORbit tracks and reports on your facility’s financial performance. Configure cost structures, pricing, and set profitability targets.
Financial analytics won’t show meaningful data until you configure cost categories, payers, and procedure pricing. Use the setup checklist on the financial hub to track your progress.

Financial hub

The main page serves as a dashboard with:

OR hourly rate

A prominent card showing your facility’s operating room cost per hour. This rate is used to calculate time-based OR costs on every case. Click the edit icon to change it.

Quick action cards

Four shortcut cards for common tasks: Add Cost Category, Add Payer, Add Procedure Pricing, and Add Surgeon Override.

Setup checklist

A progress tracker showing configuration completeness across four steps: cost categories, payers, procedure pricing, and surgeon variance (optional).

Recent activity

Feed showing the last 10 financial configuration changes with user, timestamp, and action description.

Sub-pages

Cost categories

Manage expense and revenue categories for case costs.
  • Type — Debit (expense) or Credit (reimbursement)
  • Archive/Restore with soft deletes
Archiving a cost category shows a confirmation dialog listing dependent procedure pricing records. Dependents are cascade-archived.

Payers

Manage insurance carriers — add name, contract dates. Archive/restore with soft deletes.

Procedure pricing

Configure per-procedure financial data:
  • Cost line items — multiple cost category entries per procedure
  • Reimbursement rates — per-payer reimbursement amounts
  • Effective dating — track cost changes over time

Surgeon variance

Override facility-level procedure costs for specific surgeons when their technique or implant choices result in different cost profiles.

Profit targets

Set monthly profit targets. Financial analytics tracks actual profit against these targets.
